Jane beamed. ”Actions speak louder than words,” she said. ”You don’t have to tell me often; I can tell from the way you act with me. But I love you too.” She proved her point, however, by kissing him - on his cheek would have seemed redundant, so Jane left a light kiss on his lips and smiled.
I chuckled at the light kiss on my lips… I think that was the first time we had kissed full on without getting wrapped up in it. I’d say that was an accomplishment… sort of. My thoughts turned back to the idea of exploring beyond this place… beyond the borders, seeing the sights, new areas, everything. I wonder what was even out there… I smiled at Jane again, “Say, what do you think is out there? You know, beyond where I usually explore?”
“It depends what direction one travels in, and for how long…” Jane hedged, trying to remember what she’d read in books, and seen on Clayton’s maps. ”More jungle. Eventually, desert. Savannas.” She looked at him. ”Other people. Britain has several colonies across Africa, though I’m not sure they’re near us at all.”
